Cherry's and Davide Pedersoli of Italy are proud to introduce a new engraved series of Lightning rifles. This series will have a limited production of no more than 300 pieces.

Our engraved rifle features an old style engraving pattern taken from an original Colt® Lightning rifle made in the late 1800's. This is a modified vine style pattern. As an option, you may choose an engraved animal for placement on the left side of the receiver. A mountain lion, a deer, a wolf or a bear may be selected. 

There are many engraving techniques in today's marketplace. Cherry's and Davide Pedersoli have developed an engraving process that is both detailed and beautiful, as well as affordable. The entire engraving starts with a laser process that cuts the design exactly into the metal. Then the talented engravers of Italy completely recut the laser engraving to give it the rich hand engraved look, but at a price that is much more affordable than a piece that is all hand engraved from start to finish. The engraving cuts have been darkened, much like the ink and bake process used here in the United States. The result makes the engraving really pop out and shows all the detail. 

Our gun is available in either .45 caliber or .44/40 caliber with a 26" round barrel. The wood is deluxe walnut that is checkered at the wrist and on the forearm. The rifle has a crescent style steel buttplate. The wood is finished in a rich luster that really brings out the generous grain in the wood. The receiver has been case colored and then been rubbed to soften the coloring which makes the engraving come to life. The remaining metal parts have a rich, highly polished bright blue finish.  

The mechanics of this fine rifle are still the same as it was in the late 1800's but have the added technology of the 21st century to make the gun very safe for anyone who would like to shoot this fine weapon. 

The price of our beautifully engraved Lightning rifle is $2,995.00 plus $30.00 shipping for UPS Ground. A deposit of $500.00 is required. The balance will be due when your gun arrives and is ready for shipping.

We do have a dealer price for bonafide dealers who would like to participate in this limited edition offering. The lead time on your rifle will be approximately 120 days.

Choose the animal you prefer. It will be placed on the left side of the receiver.
