ARMI SALVINELLI
Armi Salvinelli is another company that Cherry's recently visited in Italy and we were impressed by their quality. The company was founded by the three Salvinelli brothers in 1975. They have a combined experience of 156 years in the gun business since all three brothers have been involved with the gun business since 1955.
Armi Salvinellis' new product line, the Sydney 2000 series, was planned and introduced to coincide with the Australian Olympic games at the end of the millennium and is designed to satisfy the exacting demands of the sportsman and competitive shooter.
The Sydney 2000 is a truly remarkable gun. The low profile receiver is 3mm more narrow than a Perazzi. The sculpted receiver is completely machined from a forged block of special steel that incorporates the tang and guard to allow perfect interchangeability of the components. The frame is engineered to fit either 12 or 20 gauge barrels. The modified Boss type locking system assures a wider engagement area both laterally and on the lower side. This is achieved through an oversized bolt positioned on the horizontal axis of the barrels and through the two patented 45 degree angle locking lugs positioned on both sides inside the action which perfectly engages the two proper seats obtained from the barrel monobloc.
The barrels are silver soldered in a monobloc and are made of special tri-alloy steel with high ballistic performance. The barrels are available in fixed choke or removable chokes.
The trigger pull is clean, crisp and consistent shot after shot. The trigger mechanism can operate either through a delayed mechanical system for light loads or by an inertial system. Every component of the firing mechanism uses different steel according to its' purpose.
The stocks are made of selected, long-dried walnut with fine checkering. Custom made stock and adjustable stocks are available upon request.
The engraving is always very fine and can be
more detailed and the coverage more full, depending on the desires of the
customer.
