In our recent travels to Italy, Cherry's has searched for manufacturers that we would like to represent here in the United States. We recently visited with Denis Fontana of ART in Gardone, Italy
We were impressed by his quality and dedication to detail. His company blends the hand skills required to produce such works of art coupled with the sophisticated CNC technology available in the Gardone/Brescia valley.
All ART shotguns are provided with chopper lump barrels that have been fitted to the action body. Parts are hand filed to fit and the action is hand filed to the shape and weight required by the customer. The metal components are polished to a mirror finish, engraved and then heat-treated. All the stocks are usually oil polished and checkered.
ART started its' activity crafting boxlock and sidelock shotguns that perfectly followed the tradition of smoothbore shotguns made in Italy. Hammer shotguns and Boss style over and under guns now complete their line.
ART also has plenty of customizing available from detachable locks to self opening mechanisms and custom made stock dimensions.
Due to the constant fluctuations between the dollar and the euro, the prices provided are estimates in the ever changing marketplace. Please call or e-mail for exact quotes. Estimated delivery times vary from six months to a year, depending on the complexity of the engraving.
